Prof. Alexandre Tkatchenko

Alexandre Tkatchenko is Professor of Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Luxembourg and Head of the Department of Physics and Materials Science. His research pushes the boundaries of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and machine learning to develop efficient methods to enable accurate modeling and new insights into complex materials.

He is the recipient of the Dirac Medal (2020) and the Gerhard Ertl Young Investigator Award (2011), an APS Fellow since 2019, and holder of multiple flagship ERC grants, including an Advanced Grant. He has published over 150 papers and serves on the editorial boards of Physical Review Letters and Science Advances.
