“Towards an accurate computational photobiology and spectroscopy:
state-of-the-art and perspectives”

Prof. Marco Garavelli (University of Bologna), a theoretical and computational chemist, focuses on the development and application of accurate methodologies for simulating the chemical and photochemical reactivity of complex molecular systems and for simulating (vibro)electronic spectroscopies.
He is the author of over 250 publications, many of which are in high-impact journals such as Nature, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., JACS. These publications have received over 11,000 citations, and he has an h-index of 54. He has obtained significant awards and funding, including ERC Advanced Grant, a Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) award, and the Levi Prize.
