“Mechanically Chiral Molecules: Synthesis and Applications”

Prof. Stephen M. Goldup is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Birmingham, having previously held positions at the University of Southampton, Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on the development of new synthetic methods for the construction of useful mechanically interlocked molecules, particularly structures that exhibit mechanical chirality, and on the application of rotaxanes and catenanes in sensing, catalysis, materials, and medicine.
He has delivered over 130 invited lectures worldwide and published more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Science, Nature Chemistry, JACS, and Angewandte Chemie. He is also an Associate Editor of Chemical Science.
