“PFAS – Forever chemicals, today’s problem”
Dr. Marta Venier is an environmental chemist and Assistant Professor at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University. Her research employs analytical chemistry techniques and mass spectrometry to investigate the fate, transport, and behavior of persistent organic pollutants in both indoor and outdoor environments, covering both legacy and emerging contaminants.
Since November 2019, she has served as Director of the Integrated Atmospheric Deposition Network (IADN), a monitoring program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In September 2024, she was appointed to the Great Lakes Science Advisory Board of the International Joint Commission, a binational organization between the United States and Canada dedicated to the protection of shared waters.
