‘High throughput experimentation and AI/ML models in Process R&D at J&J’
Dr. Laurent Lefort is a Principal Scientist at the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. After completing his PhD at the Henri Poincaré University in Nancy, he carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Rochester (NY, USA) with an Elf-Aquitaine fellowship, and at the CNRS in Lyon with support from BP Chemicals.
From 1999 to 2001, he worked in Silicon Valley at Symyx Technologies, a start-up pioneering HTS experimentation. Back in Europe, he led small-molecule synthesis projects for 17 years as a Project Leader and Senior R&D Chemist at DSM Pharma and later InnoSyn. In 2019, he joined J&J Innovative Medicine in Beerse, Belgium, where he founded and developed a new HTE (High Throughput Experimentation) laboratory dedicated to chemical process research and development.
