He is also the Founding Director of the <em>Berkeley Global Science Institute<\/em>, Co-Director of the <em>Kavli Energy NanoSciences Institute<\/em>, and Co-Director of the California Research Alliance by BASF. Since 2019, he has been an elected member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, joined the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2022, and in the same year was also elected to the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, in addition to receiving numerous other awards from 16 different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He has published over 325 articles with an H-index of 176 and more than 210,000 citations (as of December 2022), and has been n<em>ominated twice for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry<\/em>.
