Dr Alessio Dessì

Dr. Alessio Dessì is a researcher at CNR-ICCOM (Institute of Chemistry of Organometallic Compounds, National Research Council of Italy). His scientific activity focuses on the development of sustainable synthetic methodologies based on the use of organometallic reagents, applied to new materials for photovoltaics and photocatalytic hydrogen production. He has received several awards, including the Young Investigator Award (YIA 2019) from the DSCTM-CNR and the “Flavio Bonati – GICO Junior” Award from the Interdivisional Group of Organometallic Chemistry (G.I.C.O.) of the Italian Chemical Society.

He is also actively involved in science communication, having won first place in the National GiovedìScienza Award (11th edition) and being a national finalist in FameLab Italy 2020. He is currently an elected member of the board of the Interdivisional Group for the Dissemination of Chemical Culture of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) for the 2025–2027 term.
