Prof. Luigi Dei

Prof. Luigi Dei is Full Professor of Environmental and Cultural Heritage Chemistry at the University of Florence, where he also served as Rector from 2015 to 2021.

His research focuses on soft matter and the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials with applications in the conservation of cultural heritage. He is the author of around 150 peer-reviewed articles and 9 books. In addition to his work in chemical research, he has been actively engaged in science communication and public engagement, aiming to connect different areas of culture and knowledge.
